Saving Electricity the Green Way
There is a growing popularity in going green as more people are beginning to realize the effects that humankind has on the world’s natural resources. Now, it is time for a change and everyone can contribute to help protect the earth’s precious resources.
For any homeowner, saving energy makes perfect sense. The good news is besides saving the environment; it also saves any homeowner a lot of money. Everyone can make their conscious efforts to reduce the amount of energy consumption required for everyday living. By doing so, we can reduce the amount of energy resources used up and cut back the costs of energy such as electricity and gas. I surely believe that if every home cut back on the amount of electricity they use per day, it can add up to make a huge difference.
There’s no need to get freak out because lowering electricity is not as difficult as it sounds. Here, we share some of the simplest ideas that we think can get you started:
1. Turning off electrical appliances when not in use

Greenpeace.org released their ‘Guide to Greener Electronics’ in August 2006. This guide ranks the 17 top manufacturers of personal computers, mobile phones, TV’s and games consoles (electronics stuffs) according to their policies on toxic chemicals, recycling and climate change.

- Reduce the climate impacts of their operations and products.
The use of harmful chemicals in electronics prevents their safe recycling when the products are discarded. Companies scored marks out of 51 this has then been calculated to a mark out of 10 for simplicity. Nokia is the leading scores on this campaign. Nokia showed quite constant commitment on environmental issues since first campaign on August 2006. The guide is updated every 3 months. The current edition was published on July 1, 2009 as details:

Slowly but gradually, the awareness to the environment is rising up with more people doing good deeds for the earth we love. What does going green actually mean and what does it take? Going green basically means altering your activities in such a way that you are helping the environment rather than hurting it. The best method is by using renewable energy, or what we so called “green energy“. Â The “green energy” includes energy produced from an environmentally friendly source, energy that does not create pollution; and most importantly energy that will never run out. In simple terms, it will not harm the environment in any way and does good for our planet.
We know the recession has finally hit us all in some way. For some, although we pray for it to get better but in reality it doesn’t. And we do not want to make a move for fear of our budgets. So how then can we hear with open arms and willing hands these encouragements and admonishes to “Go Green” when we know that it will cost us precious money and perhaps even cost us more than before?
